Sailing Qualifications

Began sailing in San Diego California, 1983. Active cruiser and racer since 1998. Currently sail our 2000 Tartan 3500 out of San Pedro, California.  Completed four Baja Haha's and returns (2011, 2014, 2015, 2017), the Pacific Cup race to Hawaii (2016) and the SoCal Ta-ta in 2017.  USCG Captain's License, 100 Ton.  ASA Certified Instructor. FCC General class HAM license.

Notable Sailing Experience

  • Extensively sailed the Channel Islands on "Mojo", 1985 Pearson 28'. Enjoy visiting San Miguel Island.
  • Crewed many of the S. California PHRF and Cruising Class regattas on Hunter 26.5, Catalina 27, Olson 30 and Catalina 30 from 1998 - 1999, Farr 40 in 1999, Farr 39ML from 2000 - 2004, J37, Catalina 42 and Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49DS, 2010 - 2012.  
  • Cruising class/club racing our Tartan 3500; Marina del Rey Homeport Regatta, Corsair Yacht Club Ashbridge Race.  Took 3rd place Ashbridge Race, 2013 and 2016.
  • Two person delivery crew Hawaii to Marina Del Rey, California, 21 days, "Black Knight", Farr 39ML, 2000.  
  • Baja Haha, 3 member crew; sailed the entire way to Cabo San Lucas and on to La Paz, on "Sans Frontiers", Tartan 3700, 2011, and "bashed" back from La Paz to San Diego, 2012. 
  • Six person delivery crew Vancouver to Long Beach on "Panache", Lagoon 380, 2014.
  • Skippered 'Intuition', our Tartan 3500, on the 2014 Baja Haha, San Diego to Cabo San Lucas and return to Long Beach, 2014.
  • Crewed 2015 Baja Haha on "Jacquot Bateau", Irwin 38, continued on to Puerto Vallarta, and returned from La Paz, 2016.
  • Doublehanded Pacific Cup race to Hawaii on 'Sanguine', Tartan 3800, 2016.
  • Two person cruise from Puerto Vallarta to Chiapas Mexico on 'Sans Frontieres', Tartan 3700, 2017.
  • Crewed Newport to Ensenada, Beneteau First 36.7, 2017
  • Crewed 2017 SoCal Ta-ta on "Jacquot Bateau", Irwin 38, 2017
